There are plenty of beautiful homes for us to gape at from afar, but professional athletes take the cake when it comes to luxury real estate.  With contracts sometimes up to tens of millions of dollars a year, these young, bold, and sometimes ego-driven stars acquire palatial estates without a trace of modesty.  Here are 12 of the nicest athlete's homes in the United States.
